Inexpensive Indulgence

Here is one way to treat yourself at home.  It is a wonderful way to pamper yourself and nourish your skin.

Honey Mask

Cleanse your skin.  Take about a teaspoon of honey and massage it onto your face.  Leave the honey mask on for ten minutes.  Rinse with warm water.  Your skin will feel soft and smooth.

Honey is very beneficial.  It is a humectant, so it will attract water to your skin cells and then lock it in.  It also has antimicrobial properties, so it’s great for many skin types including acne prone and dry.

So, put a honey mask on and get into a bubble bath or cozy up with a good book.  Indulge yourself and nourish your skin!

*Please be aware of any allergies and do a patch test first.

Amazing Skin

I intend to post once a week.  I will be posting about skin anatomy and function, skincare products, book reviews, and skin care recipes!  I want this to be a fun informative site that you look forward to once a week.

So, lets start with why we want to pay attention to what we are putting on our skin.  As most of you have heard, the skin is our largest organ.  It is an amazing organ that has many function.  Here are a few:

Regulates our temperature by making perspiration

Gets rid of some of the body’s waste products

Helps protect us from sun damage by manufacturing melanin

Produces oil to keep itself comfortable

Synthesizes Vitamin D we need for strong bones

Self-heals the cuts, nicks, scrapes, bruises and burns we inflict on it

Pretty amazing, right?  We need to need to keep our skin healthy so that it can perform it’s many jobs.  If taken care of correctly, it will reward us with glowing, healthy looking skin.  I am pretty sure that is what we all want!

First Post!

Hello!  I am very excited to start my first blog.  I am a licensed esthetician working in a salon.  I perform facials and waxing.  I intend to become a sensitive skin expert.   I believe all skin should be treated as sensitive.  We have all used too many harsh and aggressive skin care products in the past.   I want everyone to love and nourish their skin.  I want to help you move to a more holistic approach to your best skin ever!
